Jennifer Barczak was raised in New York’s Capital Region and graduated from Niskayuna High School. She received her formal dance training at Myers Dance Studio in Schenectady, NY under the direction of Darlene Myers studying ballet, jazz, and modern dance. She spent 8 years performing locally with the Northeast Ballet Company. Summer programs included Myers/Northeast Ballet, Studio Maestro, and Boston Ballet. She attended the University at Buffalo as an Honors Scholar, graduating magna cum laude with bachelors in both English and Art History. While pursuing her degrees she continued to study ballet and performed with the University’s Young Choreographers Showcase and Dancer’s Workshop. Living and working in Buffalo after graduating, she danced with the Festival Ballet Ensemble and performed in their annual showcase as well as the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts. Since moving to the Southern Tier in 2013, she has been working as an administrative assistant, teaching, and performing with the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet. She is also currently employed at Chautauqua Institution, having worked administratively in the School of Dance during the summer of 2015 and currently as the PAVA Schools Assistant.
